The question of whether or not diet soda helps you in your fight to lose belly fat quickly actually has some surprising answers. Not only do they NOT seem to help, but there are 3 ways which they can sabotage your efforts.

Today we will explore the first reason that diet sodas should be put on the “no go” list.

Myth Number 1….Many people assume that when you drink a diet soda you are doing something that will benefit your weight loss plans. Since they tend to fill you up it would seem logical that would be a good thing. After all, we often hear we should drink lots of water because it will fill us up and keep us from feeling hungry.

But the gain from making you feel full is lost in the ways they can undermine your efforts.

The first negative thing about diet soda is that they typically are full of sodium. Have you ever noticed that at bars the snacks they put out are always full of salt? That’s because salt makes you not only thirsty, but makes you want to eat more.

I’ve never seen a bar that served cupcakes! There is a method to their madness for sure. Like there is even a chance to lose belly fat if you are continuing to eat and drink!

Most every diet around suggests that you keep the level of sodium you take in to a reasonable amount. There are very sound medical reasons that this is important.

Even though you may be drinking a beverage that has no calories and no caffeine does not mean that it does not contain any substance you should be concerned about.

Because sodium is not good for you in large quantities and the fact that it encourages you to eat and drink are the first reason that diet soda is not really your friend.
